Story and Video by Justin Franz

For 25 years, Canadian Pacific — now CPKC — has operated an annual Holiday Train across its network. Two Holiday Trains, in fact, with one covering the U.S. portion of its system and another covering the Canadian side. This year, the Canadian edition visited southwest Alberta and southeast British Columbia (the former Kootenay Division) for the first time since 2019, stopping in communities such as  Fort MacLeod, Pincher Creek, Coleman, Sparwood, Fernie, Jaffray and Cranbrook.
