NJ Transit Sells Naming Rights to Meadowlands Rail Line

NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit has sold the naming rights of its Meadowlands Rail Line to an online sports betting company. Last month, the commuter rail agency announced that it had inked a deal with BetMGM, an online sports betting company, that will see the line redubbed the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line for three years.

As part of the deal, the BetMGM logo will appear in print and web advertising, as well as on the commuter agency’s map

“This unique advertising partnership represents a significant new source of revenue for NJ Transit,” said President and CEO Kevin S. Corbett. “This new and innovative partnership is part of our continued commitment to leverage NJ Transit assets to maximize non-farebox revenue and help keep fares stable for our customers.”

Other transit agencies have sold naming rights to streetcar lines in the past, but this is the first time NJT has done such rebranding.
