Grammy Winning Musicians to Perform for NC&StL 576 Restoration Fundraiser

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A group of Grammy award winning musicians are teaming up with the Nashville Steam Preservation Society for a virtual concert that will raise money for the restoration of Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis Railway 4-8-4 576. The “Rhythm of the Rails” concert will feature Marty Stuart, Harry Stinson and Old Crow Medicine Show on November 8.

NC&StL 576 is currently being restored at Tennessee Central Railway Museum, just east of downtown Nashville. For years, the locomotive was on display at Centennial Park before being moved to the restoration facility in January 2019. Organizers hope that the online concert will raise the final $10,000 needed to meet its $650,000 fundraising goal for 2020, aided in part by a matching grant challenge from the Candelaria Fund and the Wick Moorman Foundation.

“The 576 is one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever been a part of,” Stuart said. “Harry Stinson and I absolutely count it an honor to get to participate in the revitalization of one of Nashville’s greatest treasures.”

The “Rhythm of the Rails” will be hosted on NSPS’s Facebook page and YouTube channel on Sunday, November 8 at 5 p.m. Click here for more information
