WASHINGTON — Amtrak has appointed two new executives. Roger Harris will be president of the railroad and Gerhard Williams will be vice president of service delivery and operations, effective July 5. Both men will report to Chief Executive Officer Stephen Gardner.
“Amtrak has entered an exciting new era of growth and development, with more opportunities than ever before,” Gardner said. “The appointments of Roger and Gerhard by our Board will help the company accelerate our progress in recovering, growing and transforming the business.”
Harris will coordinate service and operations, marketing, customer service, network planning, real estate, and accessibility functions of the company. Harris has served as Chief Commercial Officer in charge of marketing and revenue since April 2019.
Williams is succeeding Scot Naparstek, who is retiring after 10 years of service to Amtrak. Williams has been with Amtrak since 2017 and previously held leadership roles with CSX Transportation.
