DETROIT — The QLine streetcar will resume service on September 27, after being shuttered since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 6.6-mile streetcar line through downtown will be free to the public for the rest of the year in an effort to support local businesses.

QLine will run every 15 minutes upon restart, from 6 a.m. to midnight Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. QLine is owned and operated by the non-profit M-1 Rail.

“We’re excited to welcome back riders to the QLine,” said M-1 RAIL president Lisa Nuszkowski. “Our team is looking forward to providing a great experience on our streetcars and reconnecting people to the places they want to go along the Woodward corridor.”

The streetcar route serves locations on Woodward Avenue from Downtown Detroit through Midtown, New Center, and the North End. The line opened in May 2017 and since then has moved more than 3.3 million people.
